Overview
The Art of Color™ approaches color as a discipline of decisions — what the hair can support, what the client is asking for, and how those two are brought together responsibly.
Instruction moves from assessment and formulation through application, dimension, toning, and the finishing and maintenance that sustain the result.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion, graduates will be able to:
- Conduct a thorough client consultation to determine formulation strategy based on hair history, condition, and desired outcome
- Formulate and execute advanced color corrections, including compromised or over-processed hair
- Apply dimensional coloring techniques with precision and consistency
- Evaluate and preserve hair integrity throughout the chemical service process
- Diagnose and troubleshoot common color-service complications in real time

Faculty evaluation of consultation, formulation rationale, and dimensional execution across assigned case work.
The Certificate of Completion is awarded on satisfaction of the Academy’s academic standards, not on attendance alone.

Who Should Attend
Colorists and beauty professionals seeking a more rigorous framework for consultation, formulation, and dimensional work behind the chair.
Admissions & Prerequisites
Applicants must hold an active cosmetology or barbering license in good standing, and demonstrate professional standing appropriate to advanced practice.
Prior experience in color services is recommended but not required. Space in each course is limited to preserve the quality of instruction and individual faculty attention.
Faculty
Led by SHINE-certified faculty with a minimum of ten years of professional experience behind the chair, selected for technical mastery, professional teaching experience, and demonstrated commitment to the standards of the Academy. Full faculty biographies will be published as instructors are confirmed for each course.
Credentialing
Graduates receive a Vivid Hue Academy Certificate of Completion in The Art of Color™, recognizing advanced professional training.
Continuing education credit hours, where applicable to state licensing requirements, will be listed on this page upon confirmation.
