Overview
Corrective Color™ examines the most demanding work a colorist undertakes: reading history the client cannot fully recount, and determining what the hair can responsibly support.
Instruction moves from diagnosis and strand assessment through corrective planning, sequencing, and the finishing and maintenance that protect the result over time.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion, graduates will be able to:
- Assess color history, porosity, and condition to establish an accurate diagnostic baseline
- Develop a staged corrective plan appropriate to the integrity of the hair
- Sequence removal, neutralization, and re-deposit decisions with sound professional judgment
- Communicate realistic outcomes, timelines, and limitations during consultation
- Evaluate results and prescribe maintenance that sustains corrected color

The Certificate of Completion is awarded on satisfaction of the Academy’s academic standards, not on attendance alone.

Who Should Attend
Practicing colorists who regularly encounter corrective work and wish to approach it with a disciplined diagnostic framework rather than improvisation.
Admissions & Prerequisites
Applicants must hold an active cosmetology or barbering license in good standing, and demonstrate professional standing appropriate to advanced practice.
Prior experience in color services is recommended. Space in each course is limited to preserve the quality of instruction and individual faculty attention.
Faculty
Led by SHINE-certified faculty with a minimum of ten years of professional experience behind the chair, selected for technical mastery, professional teaching experience, and demonstrated commitment to the standards of the Academy. Full faculty biographies will be published as instructors are confirmed for each course.
Credentialing
Graduates receive a Vivid Hue Academy Certificate of Completion in Corrective Color™, recognizing advanced professional training.
Continuing education credit hours, where applicable to state licensing requirements, will be listed on this page upon confirmation.

Courses are designated Foundational, Advanced, or Mastery. Designation reflects the depth of prior practice a course assumes, not the seniority of the professional enrolled.
